Adam Mayor, born in Mersyside, has signed a long term deal at the South London side and becomes Joe Edwards' third signing of his tenure since he was appointed the lions' head coach in November 2023.

Since making his debut in August 2022, the 19 year old winger, has made 67 appearances, 23 of those this season for The Shrimps and in total has scored 7 times, 3 this season. According to Richard Cawley at The South London Press, Millwall paid a fee in the region of £300,000.

Adam Mayor fought off Premier League stars Curtis Jones (Liverpool), Rico Lewis (Manchester City) and Jordan Beyer (Burnley), in November 2023 to win The Athletic's Rising Star award at The Armstrong Projects Northwest Football Awards.

Due to an accumulation of yellow cards, Adam will have to sit out Millwall's trip to Hull City this weekend, however, he could make his debut away to Coventry City the following week.

Alex Aldridge, Millwall’s director of football operations and recruitment told millwallfc.co.uk that "Adam is a young player with a lot of potential, so we are delighted he has chosen to join Millwall"

Lions head coach Joe Edwards said "He's had a lot of impact, which has really impressed me. He has pace and power - and there'll be more to come as he goes through his physical development - and to see what he is capable of already is really promising."

Adam himself told Millwall's website "Out of all the clubs that were in for me, Millwall were the right choice; it's a big club. I'm going to be backed by the staff and it's somewhere where I feel that I can develop as well."
